This may be one of those things we write off as a lost cause. It's a shame though, it's perfect for a forest park. It's so close to the Columbia River, and there are some old trees up there.

Raising that kind of money would take up to five years. Developers and landowners don't want to face that kind of risk. The Trust for Public Lands can sometimes rustle up money faster than that, but they would have needed something to get started.

They're not saying who bought it. I guess our only hope is to approach the new owners and see if they have any inclination to preserve some of the trees or make some accommodation for use of the stream borders.

I could see someone tearing this down and subdividing it for house lots, ... It would be a shame because of its history. I get a little teary-eyed whenever I think about not seeing this continue as a theater.

Dealerships are open to the public and anyone can come in, and you are vulnerable. It's a shame.

I'm heartbroken that they're going to close that ramp. It's a very nice lake, and it's a shame what's happening.
