The cargo -- consisting of 703 tons of maize, 108 tons of beans and 39 tons of vegetable oil -- was destined for the Lower Juba Valley, which is home to some of the most vulnerable people in Somalia, people who have repeatedly been affected by droughts and floods.

[If Spitzer's lawsuit is successful, it could be an important milestone because] companies would logically become more open about flaws and complaints, ... If you have to pay a price for inferior products, you'll be more careful about quality. It could be positive for patients.

We are tremendously grateful to the Somali Transitional Federal Government and the Kenyan ambassador for their combined efforts to ensure that the vessel, the food, and most importantly the 10-member crew who have suffered greatly during this ordeal will be released unconditionally.

I think that physicians have a responsibility to return these devices, or they can encourage families to return the devices to the manufacturer. We've been talking about this for 30 years ... Unfortunately, the devices end up in the hands of the lawyers.
