You could also locate a smaller engine elsewhere, say under the sleeper bunk. I have a patent for that, in fact. Moving the engine could reduce the frontal area of the truck and enable aerodynamic and weight-distribution improvements that are not feasible now. Generally speaking, I think we'll see more interest in what hybrid technologies can do; there will be people very open to trying new solutions.
