It was a beautiful experience for those who are already in the political arena as well as those aspiring to become involved. The activities were very informative, and the panel discussion allowed us the opportunity to tell how we got involved, our successes and our pitfalls, which may help them not make the same mistakes as they try their hand at the political arena.

I remember I made the mistake of sitting down at the ice cream parlor, which was part of a drug store in Nashville on Main Street, and being asked to leave. And I didn't know why.

It's so hard that it takes hundreds of volunteers and a few dozen staff to host 10,000 or 15,000 men. Putting on the arena events costs in the hundreds of thousands. It's the constant effort to cut costs and not let it show.
