This is a really difficult time for the Food Services Department. Especially since, at the beginning of the year, we didn't think we would be in a position to make cuts at this point. We've been doing really well and we're working so hard.

We certainly don't operate with a huge surplus, so we could be losing money at any given time. We're not unlike any other department in the district.

Our buildings are really needed by our public. We have four different categories that we put the different groups in so we know what to charge.

All of those stories about my interview-fear date from the beginning of the band. At the time of our first interviews everything was new and unclear, so I usually was staring at a reporter with this big question mark above my head. I just didn't know it then. It was too new, and I was nervous and paranoid.

Food requests are way up. We sent out $1,500 in food purchase cards in January.

This is huge, and it's certainly the mark of the beginning of a trend in food service toward organic.
