They were a team. And it wasn't eight hours a day, either, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It was more like 12 hours.

She knew what it took to keep the business going. She had good business sense.

Of course, this was a good farming area back in the '50s, '60s and '70s. There were about 25 farm equipment implement dealers within a 30-mile radius. There were a lot of farmers around.

That was her old system ? she didn't need a computer. We used to use thousands of those cards for ordering. She always had that dedication to the business.

It really is unappealing. On a good day, scrubbing a toilet is not anybody's idea of a good time.
