They are pushing people into more remote areas where the chances of being rescued are minimal. All they have accomplished 11 years later is the shifting of undocumented traffic from densely populated areas to the most remote areas.

There is no search and rescue campaign that is efficient against a strategy that pushes people into ever more remote and dangerous places. It should surprise nobody.

The differences between the sides are now much deeper and the chances for negotiations are much more remote. The only realistic steps may be Israeli unilateral steps.
