There is no search and rescue campaign that is efficient against a strategy that pushes people into ever more remote and dangerous places. It should surprise nobody.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that in spite of redoubling search-and-rescue efforts, the deaths are soaring.

They are pushing people into more remote areas where the chances of being rescued are minimal. All they have accomplished 11 years later is the shifting of undocumented traffic from densely populated areas to the most remote areas.

I'd like to rescue people in trouble, like Superman.

[But Bustamante -- whose announced campaign strategy is to urge Californians to vote] No on Recall, Yes on Bustamante ... that there's some good that could come from this as a result.

It's wonderful to be involved with such a fantastic campaign.
