These kids just trust in each other. We started a tradition of winning and as players graduate and other kids come up, they try to fill that void because they don't want to break that tradition.

The loss got them fired up. It made them realize how much everybody wanted to beat us and that we were not invincible. Without it (the loss), we might not have won the state.

At the end of last year, when we won it (4A) with a team that was predominantly juniors, I felt we would have a real good shot at it this year if we worked hard.

I just believe that, after winning, it's enabled me to free up. I'm able to trust my swing more. You just never know when you're going to win. I was playing really poorly up to that point. I just jumped over the hurdle.

This is like winning a major off the course,

We were capable of winning this match by even more of a score margin. We don't want to stay status quo. We want to keep growing.
