The fact is, however, that you can work very hard, have two jobs, and still not make it. And this leads to all kinds of social problems. It is a grossly immoral system.

Working a job should lift you out of poverty, not keep you in it.

would work to bring more jobs here overall - and to make it more of an equal opportunity situation for the jobs that come up in city government. It seems it's more like who you know to get a job here.

This has been the best recruitment year since 2001. The companies at our job fairs have real jobs to fill, and they're making hires.

There are certain jobs that go on all year round. We'll have about 100 volunteers active a couple of months ahead of the fair, and then double that number during the fair; and we can always use more.

To feel valued, to know, even if only once in a while, that you can do a job well is an absolutely marvelous feeling
