Some may wonder why we're not staying open another week, but when we start to see less than 400 skiers a day we begin to lose money.

This gives our season pass holders an extra opportunity to ski. All the Nevada schools will be out next week. It's more of a benefit for the community than tourists.

Every fire department in town wants some of that money. But we're not giving up our allocation, period.

I think it is time for the community to start really working collaboratively. When the (IVGID) board of trustees hired me they asked me to get involved in the community - and I'm passionate about being involved in the community.

I'm looking forward to seeing how many additional charities we will have encouraged to collaborate by 2007.
