Right now, Democrats can do well by letting Republicans drown in their policy problems. However, by this fall, when voters tune into the campaign, the Democratic Party needs to show citizens . . . a positive vision for the future.

People in this state often elect Republicans to keep an eye on the Democrats. Democrats are entrenched, and voters want balance.

Voters see great promise in breakthrough research into cures of major diseases, ... If he vetoes, he is running the risk of alienating a big portion of the electorate. It makes him look out of touch.

It doesn't take much to fall off a boat and drown.
