Our understanding is that we are going to the boat to accept Mobutu's resignation, nothing less, nothing more. Wednesday will determine whether we make a soft landing in Kinshasa or a tough military entry.

The end of the war will be on Sunday, when Mobutu decides to leave.

Yesterday, our positions were heavily attacked by Angolan and Zimbabwean warplanes and the result was that hundreds of people were killed -- mainly men, women and children living in surrounding villages.

We believe the solution to this problem is a political solution.

We are not going there to discuss a cease-fire. We are going there to discuss the end of the war -- a complete end of the war -- and a complete end of the war can only come about when the man who brought the war is no longer there.

These are not struggles to get power, these are not struggles to control the capital. These are struggles to bring fundamental changes in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
