It's still just an anomaly, because when you measure tornado trends, you do it over a scale of decades, not three to four years. If this were to go on two to three more years, then you start to look harder. But it is something to note.

Last year, there were not that many tornadoes in general across the country. This year, what we have seen so far is certainly like normal. It is too soon to say if it's unusually active, but it's certainly heading in that direction.

It's tantamount to trying to measure the surface of the earth, from Mount Everest...all the way down to the height of a raisin, and be able to see it all in detail.
