It's like a family here. I have had to tell people to wrap up and go home in the evening.

It's a one-stop shop. We have nutrition counseling, childbirth education, parenting classes. WIC comes here.

Some of the student's family members and friends will attend (the evening performance.) Some people could perceive a student presentation of Shakespeare's work as either a good or bad thing, so it will be interesting to see how many people turn out.

I would say, quite the opposite. But I was really privileged in that I had a wonderful family. They were always incredibly supportive and I guess I would call that privilege worth a whole lot more than money. To a large extent, it permeates the philosophy with which we raise our own kids.

I used to think I would never see a woman anchor the network evening news alone in my lifetime. This was the last vestige of male dominance. She already accomplished the unthinkable...just by getting the job.

The whole day and evening at juvenile hall mimics what daily life is like in a normal family, what life should be like. Every one of these kids can be successful if the expectations are clear and they know you mean what you say. They need consistency and boundaries.
