It was kind of a slow start, but after I had an eagle on seven, I played pretty well, ... I hit the ball straight and drove it well.

It's always a battle when you're playing against Jack Newman, ... I made some birdies at the right time. I know when I beat Jack, I beat the best.

I made six pretty easy birdies in the pro-am so I had to stick in there after the start and hope there were some more birdies around the corner. Apart from missing a couple of short putts, it was a pretty good round.

[Rensselaer] is a much bigger team than we are, but I think they're pretty slow. We want to run the ball. If we can do that, the passing will take care of itself.
