It was just a hard-fought, well-played baseball game. The kids deserve a lot of credit for bouncing back after Friday.

Josh once again just proved that he is one of the better pitchers in this area. He's proven this over a long period of time, even before I was here.

I don't think Josh had his best stuff tonight, but he pitched well. His defense betrayed him a little in the middle innings.

That was the first time we had lost in, I don't know, a couple of months. So I wanted to see how the team would respond (Tuesday).

We're a little surprised, considering some of the teams we've played. But only a little surprised. I think we've earned the 7-1.

You can put the [hit-and-run on], but the kids have to execute it. That was Mount Carmel baseball. We challenged our guys to come up with a better effort, and they responded.
