In a world where bad behavior is celebrated with a reality television salary and being mean to one another is the rubric used to determine passion and strength, people often mistake my kindness for weakness. It isn't until it is too late do these folks realize that the openness of my heart and breadth of my compassion also flows inward and is what gives me the strength to walk away without looking back.

Resting in the question is embracing uncertainty, knowing the answer will unfold in its own time. And this is really the practice of simply living. While not always easy, it is a necessary process that frees me and makes me a clear vessel for the unexpected gifts the universe has in store me.

Kindness and compassion go hand in hand. One who mistakes them as a weakness is far less than the ordinary, who only thinks but ill-will towards others.

The weak are cruel. The strong have no need to be.

Let go and live in the moment! The struggle comes from clutching. When I let go of the burden of my expectations, the illusion of control and look beyond the limited horizons of how I want the world to be, I open myself to possibilities too big to fit into my head.

You ruin your life by desensitizing yourself. We are all afraid to say too much, to feel too deeply, to let people know what they mean to us. Caring is not synonymous with crazy. Expressing to someone how special they are to you will make you vulnerable. There is no denying that. However, that is nothing to be ashamed of. There is something breathtakingly beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur when you strip down and are honest with those who are important to you. Let that girl know that she inspires you. Tell your mother you love her in front of your friends. Express, express, express. Open yourself up, do not harden yourself to the world, and be bold in who, and how you love. There is courage in that.
