I was dishwasher, then promoted to chef in a local kitchen in a restaurant in Seattle, and I was working on a building site as well, putting in insulation and painting houses, and then doing some classes at a community college nearby.

They got a big pay raise for everyone in the community college system,

(Whether they come) is up to Ivy Tech. But since they've now become a community college, I think they'll fit in perfectly.

Like everything at the end of the session, there's going to be a scramble. The Speaker has said community college is on life support, but it's not dead.

The work done through the college in the local community with fundraising is something we haven't been able to stimulate and would like to. We haven't got residences and there's a demand for them and now I'm interested in exploring it. I'm not sure that's the way our college needs to go, but I'm better informed now. The residences at your college stimulates campus life more.

We want to be part of the larger community, we didn't want to be labeled as a college bar. Food is what gives a business on the Corner stability, especially given the ABC regulations in place.
