I don't think I had any friends whose mother's worked.

It was a very, very busy clinic. When they first started out it was really geared towards lower-income people who couldn't afford to go to the doctor. And then young women started to use the clinic a lot. And I don't think things have changed much since then.

But as she became more involved with the organization, she realized how important a service they were providing to the community.

She was a pioneer, a very modern-thinking woman. Obviously, Planned Parenthood was very controversial when she did it. But she felt it was an important mission for all of us.

I use Lee Tran's van service, my cane, and there are friends who call, see if I need anything. People are great.

We had this feeling that, because of the economy ... people are going to stay home and entertain their friends.
