I don't recommend (the ICU) for every new graduate who comes out, but in many instances, it's a positive thing. Katie's done beautifully. She learns fast.

In the past, we always felt it inappropriate to bring new graduates into the ICU. They had to have floor experience.

That attitude rubs off on people. It helps to get new people in who look at things with new eyes. Everything is exciting for them. It's good to see that energy and vibrancy. It just brings it all back, why you chose this profession years and years ago.

Both are heartworm positive. And Lady had been anemic.

We see that as a positive step.

There's just something about youth and comedy that go together. Maybe it's that foolishness, that silliness that you can get away with when you're younger, that you can't get away with when you're older.
