He shut us down. He throws hard, probably in the mid- to upper 80s. He intimidated our kids a little bit -- I don't think they've hit much against someone throwing that hard.

That kind of put us in the drivers' seat right there. It wasn't over by any means, but it sure did change the momentum.

Having no penalties for us, that was just huge. We were down late in the game and our kids were still flying around to the football trying to make anything happen. That effort and positive attitude is what is going to help us throughout our season.

You always want to get in a tournament to see where your kids are at. Most of our kids haven?t played in big-time tournaments. This is going to be eye-opener for the kids. We will be ready as we can. It?s exciting and scary at the same time.

I called those guys my assistant coaches. When you're dealing with the caliber of kids I had, it's easy to put stuff in. If they saw things that would work during games, we'd try it, and it would usually work.

Co-Lin has done an excellent job of communicating with all of our kids. They've come over several times and started building a relationship with us and the players. Most of the kids have the opportunity to play at the next level at Co-Lin, and it give them another chance to get that look and get re-recruited.
