Government seems to be forgetting we are in the European Union now. It is turning a blind eye to the Transfer of Undertaking Directive, which is there to safeguard workers’ rights. I am an EU citizen, in good times and in bad, and I therefore expect my government to stick up for workers’ rights where possible within the context of membership.
