For the average user, it's a reminder that software applications can open security holes and that application vendors do make mistakes that can cause risks for users. No application should be considered completely safe.

Fortunately, you don't need special antivirus or security software for MP3s. If your antivirus is current, there won't be any damage, because the scanner will catch it.

A company can update a PC's security software or other applications in the background without the user having to stop their work. Each client could have a partition so that virus updates could be handled as the problem arises. Businesses can better protect themselves from viruses by filtering network traffic through a separate partition before it reaches the user.

We don't doubt that the wide availability of effective security software products that detect and fight cyber security threats is helping to restore consumer confidence in the security of online transactions.
