Every acre is precious. But some of these are parcels that have been identified as surplus to our long-term management objectives.

To create smaller parcels would go against the General Plan. We have had proposals to split 80-acre parcels into smaller lots but we don't allow it.

If you put it into context of the over 20 million acres of Forest Service land, it is not that much. But every acre is precious.
