You don't have the game you played last year or last week. You only have today's game. It may be far from your best, but that's all you've got. Harden your heart and make the best of it.

Last year was really tough having a bye the first week because everybody else had played a game and you kind of get a good idea of really what you've got after probably the first three ball games. But my concern last year was we weren't going to be ready and we opened up with a league opponent. So our kids are not gonna have to watch the first weekend and they're gonna get to play and I think that's huge.
