You can't be a good manager if you are doing everything yourself.

If your endeavors result in success of the company in a continuity of at least a few years, you are a successful manager. If other companies follow your business approach, you are certainly an important manager with leader characteristics.

Part of the problem is that insurance company management people are totally convinced we're in a hurricane cycle and they refuse to acknowledge where hurricanes actually hit.

Remember the Golden Rule? "Treat people as you would like to be treated." The best managers break the Golden Rule every day. They would say don't treat people as you would like to be treated. This presupposes that everyone breathes the same psychological oxygen as you. For example, if you are competitive, everyone must be similarly competitive. If you like to be praised in public, everyone else must, too. Everyone must share your hatred of micromanagement.

I think it's a good company with a very strong management and it's priced very attractively relative to the market and its peers like T. Rowe Price and Franklin Resources.
