With tuition increases, students from the lower two-fifths of the income level are coming to university schools with less frequency. For this state to be competitive, we need our kids to get degrees.

We think we can raise our per capita income, build the knowledge base, the economy and get a little more competitive if we can produce more baccalaureate degrees.

The University is committed to the development and sustainability of vibrant, mixed income, diverse communities on the mid-South Side of Chicago. Ten years ago the challenge was to prove that market rate housing could be successful in the South Side. Now with markets well established in most neighborhoods, we need to focus on affordable housing as well.

Our newest product is called the Chameleon. We marketed the product first to high schools, and now the University of Maine girls' basketball team is using them.
