With the Warner-Lambert merger completed, and having recently reached my 64th birthday, it is a good time to share with you my plans for retirement and for executive succession,

We have very strong succession plans across all group companies. But we do not comment on it. The retirement age is 60 years, but it does not apply to family professionals who work in the business.

This isn't what we expected from retirement. But we wouldn't have changed the time we had with her. She was the greatest blessing.

We're still going to be able to accomplish our goals for a good station configuration for shuttle retirement. In our schedule and planning we assumed that we'd have some shuttle problems along the way.

It's a sad day. I wrote him a big long letter for his birthday Saturday. I was going to call him but my plans changed and I had to be out of town and thought I'd call him this weekend.

We are confident that the merger authorities will conclude that this merger is unlawful and cannot go forward.
