Why should honor outlive honestly?

Is it not strange that desire should so many years outlive performance?

Mine honor is my life; both grow in one; Take honor from me, and my life is done.

He was a man, take him for all in all,
I shall not look upon his like again.

Not marble, nor the gilded monumentsOf princes, shall outlive this powerful rhyme.
