When you quash your pride, you gain humility

Let it be said that no man shall persevere with malice, but rather, shall triumph with humility.

Your patient has become humble; have you drawn his attention to the fact? All virtues are less formidable to us once the man is aware that he has them, but this is specially true of humility.

Humility, the place of entire dependence on God, is the first duty and the highest virtue of the creature, and the root of every virtue. And so pride, or the loss of this humility, is the root of every sin and evil.

Pride must die in you, or nothing of heaven can live in you.

Humility saves the wise,but pride destroys the fool.
