When you can feel good about yourself, it carries over into everyday life. If you can look in the mirror and like yourself, that's the greatest feeling in the world.

And there's nothing like excelling at a sport like basketball ? and having an opportunity to earn an education while playing it ? that's going to build a positive image for these kids.

If we can introduce basketball to these young people and show them that there's a lot to offer in this field, then we can give them confidence. And confidence carries through to all aspects of life. That's what makes you successful. If they can look in the mirror and think that they are proud of themselves and confident, then that will carry them a long way.

We are really fortunate to be able to work with the NBA on events like these. They've enabled us to get the word out through clinics and All-Star events to young people with disabilities. They're helping us show them that there's an opportunity waiting for them.

I feel like I am either on the cusp of something great, or standing on the edge of my abyss, discovering something brand new, or uncovering somebody elses lost imagination.

Don't bite off more than you can chew because nobody looks attractive spitting it back out.
