When you are young, your grandparents try to tell you their history, and you don't care because it doesn't interest you at the time. Later on, you wish you had written what they said down.

It is important to know where you came from, what your roots are. You don't have to have ancestors related to royalty. Most are just ordinary people. To me, it's fascinating to find my ancestors no matter who they are.

Over the stove, we share personal family history. Where did your grandparents come from? What did your grandparents cook?

We now have an opportunity for our generation to make our mark on human history. Our parents and grandparents took us to the Moon the first time. Now it's time for us to go back to the Moon to stay, and then head straight for Mars.

Dennis had a special interest in history and especially the history of Racine County, so the museum, I think, was kind of a special interest to him.

I don't have a strong interest in history.
