When we tell them it was shot in Canada, they're still interested in Wyoming. They don't hang up and call Alberta. They're intrigued in the story.

This film has had a positive impact on our state. People from around the world want to come for a visit.

That (Canada-U.S.) was a massive game. If Canada had lost, it wouldn't have put them out. But it would have let two or three teams back into the mix.

Any film I've made, I've only really begun to understand in the cutting room. That's when the story shows itself to you, like a wreck coming out of the sea.

Most of my films seem to be about people bewildered by the world around them, who don't fit into it and are trying to understand it.
