When we looked at the life cycle in our 40s, we looked to old people for wisdom. At 80, though, we look at other 80-year-olds to see who got wise and who not. Lots of old people don't get wise, but you don't get wise unless you age.

In childhood, instincts dictate the behavior; in youth, hormones goad the behavior and; in old age, experiences rein in the behavior.

It was yet another reason to stand in awe of them. I think that you should be in awe of anyone who reaches the age of sixty. You've got to be brave to live through so many years.

I wondered why, if it's so easy to leave the game, why we carry on playing it?

Some say you become wise with age. No. You become OLD with age, you become wise with experiences. There's a difference.

Sometimes when you're with the same old people, you get the same old thing.

You've got to learn to accept the law of life, and face the fact that we disintegrate slowly.
