When we first moved here (in 1984), the ceiling fans would occasionally stop, and the lights would flicker. We thought it was a poltergeist.

This season has really been different coming off the national championship. It's actually been a lot easier. Initially, the fans' reaction was to go get another one, not understanding how big a deal that is. We've kept things in perspective, setting smaller goals and then larger ones.

It's commercial in its appeal to fans of a traditional sound, but it seems to me that the message of the music will reach younger people as well as those 30-plus. Lee Ann makes it easy for anyone to like her sound. Some won't even analyze it as being traditional. They'll just like it, period.

(There's) nothing better than playing in a rink where the fans are loud and making a bunch of noise. It makes it a more exciting, more intense game, one you like to be part of. How do we know until we get there (how things will be)? I'm optimistic that hopefully (the fans) will be able to forget about the dark days we put them through for a whole year and come back and enjoy it.

If fans are waiting for an offensive explosion, ... they might have to wait awhile.

The Findlay fans were leaving the stadium, leaving in droves, because they thought the game was over. One of the assistant coaches came up to me and said, 'You better think of two plays because we only have time for two plays.' We had no timeouts left.
