When I got my first guitar, I played along with everything I heard that had guitar in it, like the Ramones, Nirvana and Sublime, as well as whatever hip-hop and R&B stuff was on the radio.

When I was 13, I got my first guitar, and I could sort of play Ted Nugent songs, but I couldn't play the solos. But I could play along with entire Ramones songs.

I sequenced the album like a radio station. Around midday, you'll hear more of the commercial hip-hop stuff. When the nighttime comes, you'll hear more of the depth of the records, when the beat stops and we get into the culture and the conscious vibe and the reggae.

I don't think anything can touch the expressive range of the guitar.

Dropkick Murphys get me going, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana... plus, all the regular hip-hop stuff.

For years, our league has been under scrutiny for how we adopted hip-hop and stuff like that. It's always been easier to put this league under a microscope. The whole league learned a lot of important things from this incident. It took this to really open up the books, but it gave us a new perspective on how we're looked at. And I think that's for the best.
