When a man fails to see the truth of certain generally accepted views, there is no law compelling him to provoke animosity by announcing his dissent.

Sincerity is moral truth.

Books minister to our knowledge, to our guidance, and to our delight, by their truth, their uprightness, and their art.

There was no dissent because none was allowed. The entire summit was simply a method for those elected and appointed officials who were there to pat themselves on the back. They are not looking for alternatives.

Animosity is not a policy.

A free society cherishes nonconformity. It knows that from the non-conformist, from the eccentric, have come many of the great ideas of freedom. Free society must fertilize the soil in which non-conformity and dissent and individualism can grow.
