Whatever occurred, Edward made the ultimate sacrifice. He put the lives of the other people in the home ahead of his. He got them out first and got them out safely.

Right now we don't know if he came out of the home and went back in or just never made it out. We're trying to determine just what occurred. We do know that when our firefighters tried to get into the home through the front door they were met by burning debris that was blocking the door.

We have been able to determine the spot in the home where the fire originated, but the cause is still under investigation. We do not think it was suspicious and it does appear that it will be ruled accidental.
