What you're doing is creating an expectation in the public that you're doing something that VDOT won't be able to fulfill. You're setting VDOT up for failure. You're setting VDOT up to take the fall.

Depending upon the conditions and the situation in the game, I think that's a reasonable expectation. I think these guys would rather go out there than play the field position game with a punt.

We know what needs to be done. This is just a matter of political will. It's a matter of putting aside ideologies and looking at what the needs are and then crafting a strategy for addressing those needs. This is a matter of leadership.

They didn't speak a lot of English, but you always could say hello. They're your typical great neighbors.

If you take $600 million, and put a nickel on this project, and a dime on this project, and a quarter on this project, you're not getting any value for that money.

We're not going to be able to get away with throwing $200 million or $300 million at this and declaring victory and moving on.
