What really got me focused on cancer was when my best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, and even though she was a well-to-do person, I found that her treatment costs were crippling.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004.

My mom is a breast cancer survivor of five years. And my best friend since I was 8 years old was diagnosed when she was 30. She's a 10-year survivor this year.

I had a friend, Melissa, who was 28 years old. She was my best friend's wife, and she was my wife's best friend. She died of breast cancer. When she passed away back in 2004 was the last time I cried.

She's always there for me when I need her; She's my best friend; she's just my everything.
