Energy prices in general have been going up, as are concerns about energy security and climate change.

The impact of climate change is a tremendous risk to the security and well-being of our countries.

The oceans store an enormous amount of heat energy, and they act to buffer any rapid climate change. If there is any significant change in the amount of heat stored by the oceans, this would effect global temperatures.

It is our duty as states, citizens, and industry leaders to make the energy transition a reality with the ultimate aim of reconciling two major priorities: to meet ever-increasing demand and to confront the complex issue of climate change.
