I'm proud of the book in a lot of ways. I think it reads well ... We encouraged our writers to write in their own voices.

This book is a lot about the New England of today.

I wrote for that back in the mid-1980s. Thats what got me thinking New England should have something like that.

It both acknowledges the generalized notions of this place, (and) it also challenges them.
