We've talked about it and if that's the case for Gary then that's the case for Derek. But that's the era we are in. If he leaves for nothing that's fine, I would hopefully go and find a wee gem from somewhere who is hungry enough to come and score goals and make a name for themselves.

If Derek wants to sign his contract extension, then everything would be great and we could just get on with things. That has always been the case. I have always said that the best-case scenario for us and Derek is that he signs his contract extension and concentrates on his football and scoring goals until somebody that he is happy with comes in with the right money for him.

It is a cruel game and it is very harsh on the players. To come in 3-1 down at half-time felt unfair and the penalty was a killer for us. It looked very soft. At 2-1 down, we were just one goal away from winning the tie and in with a real chance.

I have told Derek we will see him on Monday because I want him to make sure he gives it plenty of thought, to make sure we are not pushing him in any direction. I want him to have a clear head and make a decision. My advice to Derek would be to go and listen to them and to see what they've got to offer, see what is on the table.
