We're trying to hold down family homes with kids to provide some relief to the schools.

We are trying to keep kids from having to go to three elementary schools in three years. There will be a few, but we are trying to limit it as much as possible.

It is profoundly discouraging to learn that the share of African-American kids attending segregated schools has barely changed in the last decade since school choice policies were adopted in Michigan. We should all be concerned about the kind of society we are creating, in which more than half of African-American students in Michigan go to schools in which virtually none of their classmates are not also African-American.

The Class B schools usually compete in their regular events, but Capital and Helena will probably be trying some kids in events other than what they normally do.

People cruise around with their kids and their grandchildren - it's a family-type event.

What if in 20 years we say, 'small schools? What was that all about?' We're trying to build for a variety of uses because we know it's going to change.
