We're sort of superstitious now. The albums that had the beetle on it did better than the ones that didn't. It's with us. It's part of our allure.

I always loved those early Elton John albums. I sort of keep going back there,

I was starving before I hit Journey. Very, very rough times... I didn't know where the next pay check was gonna come.

I saw some of the most amazing things I've ever seen in a studio on that album. Steve probably sang the 'Mother, Father' vocal in two takes. Done. It seemed like the whole band could just get up and fly away.

It's a tougher-edged album — less poppy and a little more rock. It's a playful mix of the different styles that we embrace.

They're bombarded with all kinds of music, yet they chose to hum ours. That's the best nod you can get. The best testimonial to Journey is it appeals to the ages.
