We're seeing properties that go for $20 million or more that don't even have an acre of land.

One of the properties on the list last year sold. And there was another sale just of land that was listed at $75 million. There have been some major sales in Malibu as well. There's high demand and very little product.

Our objective … will be to give everyone involved the ability to look at each and every tract (of land proposed for sale), to satisfy themselves if they want to, that these tracts are worthy of what we are proposing.

Land sales are a sensitive issue, and the public will have an opportunity to comment on the proposal. Then, we will revise the list one more time before transmitting it to Congress.

The Yankees have been here for 82 years already and we haven't seen any benefits. It's a land grab in the poorest congressional district in the country for the richest sports franchise.

It's good to annex the land and it's good we made it over that one hurdle. We have to start protecting ourselves. We can't expect the new people coming into Johnstown to fix everything with the schools. This isn't easy for any of us.
