We're really in a vacation stretch now. For a number of ski areas . . . the month of March is the biggest month of the year.

Everybody is counting on this February vacation week. It's like every day is a weekend this week.

The shaped ski, which really came along just about 10 or 12 years ago, completely changed the sport. They are shorter with bigger tips and tails, which makes them much easier to turn.

We'll just suck it up, deal with it, turn the snowmakers back on and we'll be back in good shape.

We're going to end up with an OK, ho-hum weekend, whereas two days ago it was looking like another awesome, blockbuster weekend coming up.

One of our owners, Bob Nicholls, got the idea to do a ski free day because he wanted to show the place off to some people who maybe hadn't been here in a while. Judging by some of the equipment I saw, I think he did just that.
