We're going to come out of this convention united behind the governor. We have a governor who is big and bold and has a vision for the future.

I would say that absolutely McCain could put California in play. Of the major people being talked about, I see he has tremendous cross-over appeal.

People generally had become very upset with California's business climate, and Roland was shifting to that point of view well before Arnold identified himself as a candidate.

Everything he's doing is what he thinks is the best interests of California, but sometimes it's not in the best interest of the Republican Party. With every fiber of his being, he's just trying to improve the state.

This is very difficult for some congressmen, and we understand their situation, but this is something that has to be done. Even if the system is sometimes gamed in your favor, you can't let it stand.
