We're concerned with this game on many levels. In addition to the gangster element, it grossly misrepresents what law enforcement officers do, that they go into any situation with guns blazing.

We feel it's our responsibility to educate the public about law enforcement safety. We're going to continue our efforts to make sure parents know what's in this game. Even one signature is significant because it means that one person is upset, and we have 200,000 people upset.

I certainly believe we want the manufacturer to know what kind of opposition there is to that game. We can provide this information to legislators to let them know there's a whole group of constituents out there who object to this kind of entertainment.

If Oxley had more control over that process and the timing, I just don't think we would have the law that resulted.

We were surprised when this law was brought to our attention as a result of the lawsuit because it effectively gives a veto power over something clearly within the (jurisdiction) of the Zoning Board, ... We dont know where this law came from nor why it was put on the books, but we do know that it has not been enforced and we have a legal obligation to either enforce it or repeal it.

There is a considerable body of law that says the court has to follow the law at the time the case is decided, ... If they (the Village Board) repeals this section of the law, then the court is going to have to treat the law as no longer being in effect.
